DC Tower 1 sold to Deka

  • DC Tower 1, the highest office building in Austria, has been sold to German company Deka Immobilien
  • BAR bareal Immobilientreuhand GmbH has assisted in another major real-estate deal in Vienna, the sale of DC Tower 1
  • Another major transaction for bareal after “Wien Mitte”, “G3 Shopping Resort Gerasdorf”, and “ÖBB Konzernzentrale am Hauptbahnhof”

BAR – Vienna, 7 July 2017 – BAR bareal Immobilientreuhand GmbH has one more major success to celebrate. The highest and – with its distinctive architecture – most spectacular building in Austria, DC Tower 1, has been sold to German Deka Immobilien. The entire international bidding process for the sale of DC Tower 1 has been successfully brokered by BAR bareal Immobilientreuhand GmbH. The transaction was completed on 6 July 2017.

DC TOWER 1 was designed by French star architect Dominique Perrault, and it was constructed in collaboration with the Viennese Hoffmann-Janz architectural practice. Perrault, known internationally for his design for the National Library of France in Paris, also created a master plan for the entire remaining area of VIENNA DC Donau-City, including, in addition to the breath-taking tower, a space for living and communication near to the Danube.

DC Tower 1 has around 74,500 square metres of rentable space and 355 parking spaces. The anchor office tenants include Shire, voestalpine and PwC. The tower also houses a fitness centre, a hotel and a restaurant on the 57th floor. This LEED Platinum-certified high-rise was completed in the autumn of 2013, and took about 3 ½ years to build. The most urgent objective in the building of the DC Tower was not to break new records for the tallest building, but rather to create an outstanding building of impressive design and quality. The height of the tower arose from the ambition to develop the planned cubature while maintaining the sleek aesthetic of a slender tower.
