ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION

WIEN MITTE MOVES THE CITY
A shopping center is located on the first three floors directly above the metro tracks. The main entrance sector, located on Landstraßer Hauptstraße, leads directly into a shopping arcade flooded with light which, in its course, runs directly to the entrance on Marxergasse. This spacious passage, equipped with numerous stores, spatially connects the staircase and the elevators from ÖBB and Wiener Linien, the two public transport systems, at Landstraßer Hauptstraße with CAT at Marxergasse. The existing building of CAT is integrated in the utilization of the ground-floor shopping center. The location of the terminals and the connection to the platform floor stays intact.

Five floors for office use are arranged right above the shopping center. The access to the office spaces is provided via lobbies, which offer a direct route to the street on the ground floor.

THE CITY FOYER
Opposite of the city blocks of the surrounding structures, WIEN MITTE presents itself outwardly as pulsating center of the city, which formally corresponds with its special urban status. Ten meter colonnades constitute to the distinctive framework, which marks the project as communicative urban center to the outside. A gallery encircles all four sides of WIEN MITTE.

WIEN MITTE MOVES THE CITY
At one of the most important frequency points of Vienna, in close vicinity to the historic city center, a multifunctional building complex is developed, which will be unique in its appeal – WIEN MITTE.

The implementation of WIEN MITTE is carried out by the ARCHITEKTEN WIEN MITTE (Ortner & Ortner, Neumann + Steiner). The project is constructed by Wien Mitte Immobilien GmbH, which shares the ownership between BAI Bauträger Austria Immobilien GmbH and Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG.

The building project of the train station with around 130 000 m2 of office, purchase, gastronomy and leisure sector currently presents the largest inner-city building project of Vienna.

The proposed project by the architect association Ortner & Ortner, Neumann + Steiner sets an urban impetus at the intersection of major urban axes in Vienna.

WIEN MITTE is located in the third district of Vienna, in close vicinity to Stadtpark and Ring and in walking distance to Stephansdom. WIEN MITTE creates an new center of attraction that puts powerful emphasis on the latest functionality, while being surrounded by historical buildings. Nowhere in Vienna is it possible to work and shop so close to the city center, nowhere else engages modern architecture so confidently in dialogue with classical Vienna.

UTILISATION

Besides the primary use as office building, WIEN MITTE will be able to satisfy the high demands for infrastructure facilities with a shopping center of around 30 300 m2 of sales area.

Along Landstraßer Hauptstraße and Gigergasse, five floors with office use are arranged above the shopping center. The access to the office spaces is provided via lobbies, which offer a direct route to the street on the ground floor.

In addition, modern entertainment and leisure facilities such as a fitness center and the neighboring Village Cinemas (bridge connection) are available.
